It has been a selected as a tiger reserve in the year 1973. How to Reach Bandipur Wildlife Sanctuary?
Bandipur National Park is a splendid Adventure in Bangalore which situated on the freeway connecting Mysore and the hill station of Ooty. Reaching Bandipur by means of bus is very convenient. All regular and express state transport buses waging between Ooty and Mysore pass through the park fringes and the Forest Department Centre is a designated bus stop. It takes around two hours and a half more to reach Bandipur forest from Mysore and around couple of hours from Ooty. The adjacent rail junction is Mysore (around 60 km away) and the adjacent international airport is the software Hub of Bangalore which is around 200 km.
